All About Relationships

Luke 10:36

“What do you think? Which of the three became a neighbor to the man attacked by robbers?” “The one who treated him kindly," the religion scholar responded. Jesus said, “Go and do the same.”

If we look for hate we will find it. If we look for love we will be overwhelmed! God, have mercy on us. Help us to:

  • Pause and listen.

  • Make a friend with someone that doesn’t look like you.

  • Understand their humanity.

  • Let go of fear.

  • Listen to their story. Really listen.

  • Pray for all that divides us.

  • Have hearts broken the way God’s heart is broken.

  • Show empathy. Show love. Give hope.

  • Be a part of the solution.

  • Understand people’s fears.

  • Teach and model peace and love.

  • Have a conversation and then to take action.

We have a great country. We all have to participate. We can't let one part of our society suffer and ignore it.

We are broken. To make a change we need:

  • To show humility …Don’t be afraid to tell what we do not know. Allow others to teach us.

  • To show intimacy… Tell your own personal stories , where you have made mistakes. Listen to the cries of others.

  • Gratitude … Be thankful for everyone. Love your neighbor. Build trust.

Jesus was all about relationships. Loving Him and loving others. We can do so much better. "The world will say to you we need to end racism. Start by healing it in your own family.

The world will say to you, "How do we speak to bias and bigotry?"

Start by having the first conversation at your own kitchen table.

The world will say to you there is too much hate.

Devote yourself to love. Love yourself so much that you can love others without barriers and without judgement." - Cleo Wade

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. Great God, Help us to step out and be the good the world so desperately needs. Help us to see every person on the planet as God’s idea. I am a child of God. Help us to love you and love each other well. Amen.
