Listen Closely to His Word
Proverbs 4:20-23 “My son (daughter), pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” During this pandemic season, when fear is foremost and restrictions are on all of us, it is easy to get caught up with worry and discouragement and wonder, “What is going on, and when is this all going to end?” But if we keep reminding ourselves that God is good and loving and He has promised never to leave us, nor forsake us, and that He is in control, we can rise above all this victoriously.
I have chosen to spend this time listening to His word. To listen to preachers, evangelists, and prophets on my computer and to encourage myself in Him. I also listen to Christian videos and teachings that I have collected over the years. They are all a rich source of encouragement and very challenging to call me into a deeper walk with Him. I realize that I had gotten caught up in just doing the same routine day in and day out, and so I am grateful for this wake up call. God is truly wanting the world to wake up spiritually and turn to Him. Let us pray: Lord Jesus, I am sorry for just doing life as usual and where I feel comfortable. Please awaken me to a new passion for you and for your kingdom purpose for this hour! I pray the Holy Spirit will again set my heart on fire and that he will do the same all over the world. Keep us vital for you and open to how we can help others to find you and seek your word! Thank you, Lord! Amen.
