Following Your Will
As I go on my walk, I noticed the haze and humidity in the air. The sun is not yet shining. However, the SON continues to shine each and every day when I allow it. As I continued to walk, I prayed for God's will in this time of reflection and discovery. Then a thought occurred to me, I pray for God's will, but I don’t ASK what God’s will is for me. What is the direction He has in store for me, my family and community?
I realize the pressure is off, I don’t have to plan anything, I don’t have to steady the course, God has done that for me. I just need to ask and know in faith that he is the Captain of the ship, the pilot in the plane, the Maker of everything that exists. Solomon’s prayer of dedication from 2 Chronicles 6:14 says, "O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in all heaven and earth. You keep your promises and show unfailing love to all who obey you and are eager to do your will."
Let us Pray: Heavenly Father, I ask that you guide me in following your will. Change what needs to be changed within me to grow and learn as a person of faith. Affirm what is good and true in me, others and in my community. Help me to remember that God loves me wherever I am in my journey of faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.
