Mark 16:6-7
Mark 16:6-7
The angel said, ”Do not be afraid. I know you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, the One they nailed on the cross. He has been raised up. He is here no longer. You can see for yourself that the tomb is empty. Now go on your way. Tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, exactly as he said.” "Do not be amazed, you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen!" These were words that changed the world. That happens when angels speak about the Son of God coming to life again, after his enemies appeared to win. Jesus truly was alive. Sin’s power had been broken. The demons had lost. Death had been defeated. No, the story wasn’t over. It couldn’t be. Resurrection stories never end. The two Mary’s going to anoint Jesus’ body wasn’t the end. Don’t stop outside the tomb. See the stone rolled away. Look and see that he is not there. May his presence allow your soul the freedom to: sing, rejoice with great passion, dance as if no one is watching, have a happy heart, praise and worship him like never before, and receive his never-ending, extravagant love. Run to tell your friends. Run to tell the world. The Lord is risen! Alleluia ! This love story has no end. It never will. John 3:16-17, 19 This is how much God loved the world. He gave his Son, his one and only Son. So that no one need be destroyed, by believing in him anyone can have a whole and lasting life. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted... This is the crisis we are in: God’s light came into the world but men and women ran for the darkness. (The Message) Jesus gives lasting life. Choose Jesus. Choose light. Choose eternal life. Let us pray. Great God, as we follow Jesus’ sandals on the road to resurrection, may we remember: waving palm branches to honor Jesus, tiptoeing into an upper room and tasting the Passover meal, visiting Barabbas in his jail cell,
hearing a Roman soldier's remorse for hurting Jesus, and celebrating on a hillside outside Jerusalem where Jesus has risen from the dead. This path Jesus took to forever change the world, we thank him and praise him and love him. Alleluia! The Lord is risen! Amen.
