Isaiah 42:1-6
Isaiah 42:1-6
“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him; And he will bring justice to the nations.” … “Thus says God, the Lord, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people upon it and spirit to those who walk in it: “I am the Lord, I have called you in righteousness, I have taken you by the hand and kept you; I have given you as a covenant to the people, a light to the nations,…” This prophecy was given by Isaiah about Jesus. But remember that we now have Christ within us. So the prophecy is for us as well. We are God’s servants, and He delights in us. His Spirit is on us, and we will be the justice that He wants. He has called us to righteousness, a time to get right with God. We do this by believing in Jesus, following His path, and modeling His behavior. He has our hand, He will keep us. We will be a light to the nations. Let us pray: God, my Father, help me to stay in Your hand, not to wiggle and squirm but to enjoy the safety and peace that comes when we hold fast to You. Let me be a light to those around me and those that I am in contact with. Let me find ways to glorify You. Let me be Your servant. In Jesus' name, Amen.
