Psalm 130
Psalm 130 "Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins." (v. 1-2, 7-8) Once again we are reminded of our Lord's presence in our lives and His desire for us to continually seek Him, to know, to hope, to trust in Jesus Christ and his love for us. Let us pray:
Abba Father, Your love for us is so much more than we can comprehend. When we stray, You're still waiting for our return. When our independent spirit leads us, You're still standing by, loving us. Oh God, we today find ourselves challenged just as Your people were when this Psalm was written. Just like then, they cried out to You, and so do we. Oh God, do You have us in a spiritual correction? Are You saying, 'If my people seek me, I will heal their land?' We acknowledge you are God, Master of the universe, You are Healer of our land, Restorer of our faith, Redeemer of our souls. Guide us, protect us, Abba Father, today and always, as we seek to know You more and choose to follow along Your path - especially now as we seek Your help through our current crisis. Jesus, we ask you to heal us and our nation. Amen.
