Just this past November 11, Nicolle and I married at Church of the Holy Spirit before God and so many wonderful friends and family - both our kin and our spiritual family. What an incredible joy it was to share with you the Lord's call and commission to holy matrimony for us, knowing we have your witness, support, and prayers on this new journey together! Nicolle and I are so grateful for your presence in our lives, and we look forward to seeing God continue to use us all as a church to serve and love one another and the community around us.
Truly, our hearts are full of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord and to you. 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 says, "Who is our hope, our joy, our crown of boasting, if it is not you yourselves in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming? You are indeed our glory and our joy."
From us to you, we pray a blessed Thanksgiving Day for you and yours. But even more so, we pray that giving thanks to God is a personal practice and not just an annual holiday. Giving thanks cultivates mental and emotional strength to beat back the wolves of worry. Regardless of the situation we face, there is always something for which we can thank God, and when we choose to think on that, we determine our attitude and action.
Let the power of regular thanksgiving be your weapon against anxiety and discontent, that your joy may be complete in Jesus, who is your bridegroom. Happy Thanksgiving!!
