Special Prayer Day for Coronavirus

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14

As I shared in my sermon, I am calling CHS to corporate prayer every Friday at 11AM through this pandemic we face.

Obviously, we cannot meet at this time in the numbers that we would hope to, due to the CDC's directive (no more than 10 people together), and many can be at risk for simply coming out.  So, we will host a simple conference call for prayer.

Dial 712-775-7035
When prompted, enter access code 751316# (don't forget the pound sign!)

Voila!  You will come in on the call with me and others.  And we will simply spend time in prayer for our country, for medical workers, for people suffering, and for those who are losing job time (and income).  We will pray against fear, selfishness, and division.  And pray for a cure, for God to heal our land, and for an overall return to the Lord, as the idols of our land are being cast down (stocks, entertainment, busyness, etc.)  Feel free to use the prayer guide about the coronavirus. (LOOK HERE)

You need not be a "prayer warrior," nor do you need to feel compelled to have to pray aloud on the call.  We simply want to unite our spirits in prayer, as we agree together in Christ for deliverance, healing, peace, and unity.

I believe God is trying to get our attention - reminding us of Who is really in control and how all things come of Him.  "The Lord giveth and He taketh away" (Job 1:21).  But I also believe God is using and will continue to use this time to reset and refresh His people for a great harvest!  I don't think it's a coincidence that this is happening during Lent.  Whether they knew about the season or not, everyone is giving up something now!  We're all being pruned.  But the vinedresser only does so that more fruit will be produced (John 15:2)!

Prayer is a great gift we have.  And I don't know about you, but I find my prayers strengthened and infused when I pray together with the Body of Christ.  Your voice matters!  One life does make a difference!  Let us use the gifts of God humbly to seek and honor Him for our well-being and that of the world He so loves.

Gratefully,
Michael +
